格莱圈(Glyd Ring)使用指南


一、格莱圈是什么

格莱圈是孔用/轴用双向组合密封圈,由两部分组成:

• 耐磨滑环:填充PTFE(聚四氟乙烯)平环/双台阶环(低摩擦、耐磨、耐高压)

• 预紧弹性体:O形橡胶圈(给PTFE环持续径向预紧力,压力越高密封越紧)

核心特点:双向密封、低摩擦、无爬行、耐高压、寿命长,主要用在液压油缸活塞密封、中高压往复运动密封。
一句话区分:
✅ 斯特封:单向密封,活塞杆(轴用)居多;
✅ 格莱圈:双向密封,活塞(孔用)居多。
二、格莱圈使用前提:选型&规格确认

1. 先确定4个关键参数

1. 安装形式:孔用格莱圈(活塞密封) / 轴用格莱圈(活塞杆密封)

2. 尺寸:缸径/杆径、沟槽内径、沟槽宽度、沟槽深度(按GB/T、JB/T、DIN、ISO标准)

3. 工况:工作压力、温度、往复速度、介质(液压油、水乙二醇、乳化液等)

4. 材质匹配:

◦ 常规液压油:PTFE+铜粉/碳纤 + NBR(丁腈)O形圈

◦ 高温/耐油:PTFE+填充 + FKM(氟胶)O形圈

◦ 低温:PTFE+填充 + HNBR/NBR

2. 常用标准(选型依据)

• 国内:JB/T 6657(液压缸密封沟槽)、GB/T 3452.1(O形圈)

• 国际:ISO 5597、DIN 3869

• 进口品牌:Hallite、Trelleborg、SKF 企业标准格莱圈规格
三、格莱圈正确安装步骤(核心!装错必漏)

1. 安装前准备

1. 检查零件:

◦ 缸筒、活塞、活塞杆:无毛刺、无划痕、倒角圆滑、清洁干燥

◦ 格莱圈:PTFE环无裂口、变形,O形圈无破损、缺料、老化

2. 工具准备:

◦ 专用安装工具(锥套、导向套、安装套筒、塑料撬棒,禁止金属锐器)

◦ 润滑脂/液压油(同系统介质,禁止用黄油、杂质油)

3. 环境:洁净车间,无粉尘、铁屑、杂质

2. 分步安装(以**孔用格莱圈(活塞密封)**为例)

1. 先把O形圈完整装入活塞沟槽底部,确保无扭曲、无翻转、均匀贴底;

2. 用手指/塑料工具把PTFE格莱环轻轻撑开,套在O形圈外侧,放入沟槽;

◦ ❗ 重点:PTFE环严禁过度拉伸、扭曲、刮伤,PTFE材质硬脆,一裂就废;

3. 用专用安装套筒/导向套,将格莱圈均匀压入沟槽,确保整圈平整、无翘边、无局部凸起;

4. 检查:整圈PTFE环完全入槽,O形圈无外露、无挤压变形;

5. 装配活塞入缸筒:

◦ 缸口必须做大倒角(15°~30°);

◦ 涂抹液压油润滑格莱圈外圆;

◦ 缓慢、匀速推入,禁止硬砸、敲击,防止PTFE环被缸口毛刺刮伤、翻边。
轴用格莱圈(活塞杆):
步骤相反:先装O形圈到沟槽,再套PTFE环,活塞杆端倒角,缓慢套入安装。
3. 安装禁忌(必看)

❌ 禁止用螺丝刀、铁丝、金属工具撬PTFE环;
❌ 禁止PTFE环扭曲、折皱、单边翘起;
❌ 禁止在有毛刺、尖角、未倒角的缸口/轴端硬推;
❌ 禁止用非系统介质润滑(不同油液会溶胀O形圈);
❌ 禁止装配时大力敲击、猛砸。
四、使用工况与适用范围

1. 推荐工况

• 工作压力:0~40MPa,高压型可达60MPa+

• 往复速度:≤1.5m/s(低速往复最佳)

• 温度范围:

◦ NBR:-40~+100℃

◦ FKM:-20~+200℃

• 介质:矿物液压油、水乙二醇、乳化液、部分酸碱介质

2. 不适用场景

• 高速旋转密封(PTFE环不耐磨高速旋转);

• 超高压冲击频繁且无缓冲;

• 沟槽尺寸超差、间隙过大(会挤坏PTFE环)。
五、使用中常见问题&解决

1. 漏油、渗漏

◦ 原因:PTFE环刮伤、O形圈扭曲、沟槽脏污、缸筒拉伤;

◦ 解决:更换格莱圈,清洁沟槽,修复缸筒/活塞,重新规范安装。

2. 启动卡顿、爬行

◦ 原因:PTFE环安装不平整、润滑不足、O形圈预紧力过大;

◦ 解决:重新平整安装,足量润滑,核对沟槽尺寸。

3. 短期就损坏、开裂

◦ 原因:安装硬撬、缸口无倒角、介质不匹配、压力超标;

◦ 解决:换专用安装工具,做好倒角,核对材质与工况。

Glyd Ring User Guide

1. What is the Gland Ring

The Gland Ring is a dual-purpose seal ring for both hole and shaft applications, consisting of two parts:

• Wear-resistant slip ring: filled with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) flat ring/double-stepped ring (low friction, wear-resistant, high pressure resistant)

• Pre-tensioned elastomer: O-ring rubber (provides continuous radial pre-tensioning force to the PTFE ring, with higher pressure resulting in tighter sealing)

Key features: bidirectional sealing, low friction, no creeping, high pressure resistance, long service life. Primarily used for sealing hydraulic cylinder pistons and medium to high pressure reciprocating motion.

III. Proper installation steps for the O-ring (crucial! Misassembly will lead to leakage)

1. Preparation before installation

1. Inspect parts:

◦ Cylinder barrel, piston, and piston rod: free of burrs and scratches, with smooth chamfers, clean and dry

◦ Gland ring: PTFE ring is free of cracks and deformation, and the O-ring is free of damage, material shortage, and aging

2. Tool preparation:

◦ Special installation tools (taper sleeve, guide sleeve, installation sleeve, plastic pry bar, metal sharp objects are prohibited)

◦ Lubricating grease/hydraulic oil (same system medium, do not use butter or impure oil)

3. Environment: Clean workshop, free of dust, iron chips, and impurities

2. Step-by-step installation (taking **bore with Gleason ring (piston seal)** as an example)

1. First, fully install the O-ring into the bottom of the piston groove, ensuring that it is not twisted, not flipped, and evenly fits the bottom;

2. Use your fingers or a plastic tool to gently spread apart the PTFE O-ring, place it outside the O-shaped ring, and insert it into the groove;

◦❗ Important: The PTFE ring must not be overstretched, twisted, or scratched. PTFE material is hard and brittle, and it becomes useless once it cracks;

3. Use a dedicated installation sleeve/guide sleeve to evenly press the O-ring into the groove, ensuring that the entire ring is flat, without warping or local protrusions;

4. Inspection: The entire PTFE ring is fully inserted into the groove, and the O-ring is not exposed or deformed due to compression;

5. Assemble the piston into the cylinder barrel:

◦ The cylinder mouth must have a large chamfer (15°~30°);

◦ Apply hydraulic oil to lubricate the outer circumference of the Gleason ring;

◦ Push in slowly and uniformly, and avoid hard smashing or knocking to prevent the PTFE ring from being scratched or flared by burrs on the cylinder mouth.
Axle Gland Ring (Piston Rod):
The steps are reversed: first, install the O-ring into the groove, then slide on the PTFE ring, chamfer the end of the piston rod, and slowly slide it into place for installation.
3. Installation taboos (must-see)

❌ It is prohibited to pry the PTFE ring with screwdrivers, iron wires, or metal tools;
❌ It is prohibited for the PTFE ring to be twisted, wrinkled, or warped on one side;
❌ It is prohibited to forcefully push into cylinder ports/shaft ends with burrs, sharp corners, or unchamfered edges;
❌ It is prohibited to use non-systematic medium for lubrication (different oils may cause swelling of O-rings);
❌ It is prohibited to strike or smash violently during assembly.
IV. Operating Conditions and Scope of Application

1. Recommended operating conditions

• Working pressure: 0~40MPa, with high-pressure models reaching up to 60MPa+

• Reciprocating speed: ≤1.5m/s (low speed reciprocation is optimal)

• Temperature range:

◦ NBR:-40~+100℃

◦ FKM:-20~+200℃

• Medium: mineral hydraulic oil, water-glycol, emulsion, some acid-base media

2. Inapplicable scenarios

• High-speed rotating seal (PTFE ring is not wear-resistant for high-speed rotation);

• Frequent ultra-high pressure impacts without buffering;

• Groove dimensions exceed tolerance and the gap is too large (which may crush the PTFE ring).
V. Common problems encountered during use & solutions

1. Oil leakage and seepage

◦ Causes: Scratched PTFE ring, distorted O-ring, dirty groove, and damaged cylinder barrel;

◦ Solution: Replace the O-ring, clean the groove, repair the cylinder/piston, and reinstall according to specifications.

2. Startup is sluggish and slow

◦ Causes: uneven installation of PTFE ring, insufficient lubrication, excessive pre-tightening force of O-ring;

◦ Solution: Re-level and reinstall, apply sufficient lubrication, and verify the groove dimensions.

3. Damage and cracking occur in a short period of time

◦ Causes: hard prying during installation, no chamfer at the cylinder port, mismatch of medium, and excessive pressure;

◦ Solution: Use a dedicated installation tool, ensure proper chamfering, and verify the material and operating conditions.
